Fom high school she stood out because she was very pretty. She was very down-to-earth. She wasn't an extrovert in the sense of seeking popularity. People were drawn to her friendly disposition. She was focused mainly on studies. She excelled throughout high school and college to be a social worker. She was ambitious. She enjoyed travelling. But this did not hinder staying in touch . She had the true qualities of a true friend which continued over the years despite us living on two different continents. She wrote to me with the devastating news which would have been a courageous decision. When I last saw her in 1987 with Del by her side she was the same unfaltering friend. But I could see then the early stages of MS .. She was still as pretty and sweet-natured. She never lost her impeccable presence. She had a natural style of her own. .As the years passed we talked frequently. She was determined to organize and attend her mother's birthday and travelled with Del from California despite her deteriorating health. She adapted to a life that would.test anyone of the highest endurance. She had inner strength beyond what could be expected. Nancy had poise and great dignity that was astounding. She never lost her thoughtful nature when in our conversations was always concerned about my situation and never dwelt on her own. She had a refreshing manner that endeared me to enjoy sharing thoughts and ideas with her. I called talking with her "riveting" ! Acceptance was her way of coping through faith, with a Bible by her side. I will always think of her and look at my phone when it rings... reminding me of my dear friend Nancy.

Nancy was dear sweet lady. Her smile lit up our hearts. Her courage was remarkable. Her friendship will be cherished forever. Memories of the times we shared with Nancy and Del from, Super Bowl parties to 'camping' to other laughter-filled gatherings, will be with us forever. Pat &MJohn Beatty
