Obituary of Linda Ann Malarkey

 

Linda Ann Malarkey, age 80, died of complications from COVID-19 on October 4th, 2020, in San Diego, California.

Linda was born on August 31, 1940, in Avon, Ohio, to parents Carl and Marlys Lorenz.

She graduated from Avon High School in 1958.

In 1960, she moved to Lakeside, CA with her parents and accepted a position with the US Postal Service where she worked for several years before accepting a position with the County of San Diego.

While working at the USPS, she met and married George Everett Malarkey in 1962 and the couple had two children together, Brian Stewart and Michael George. Linda was a great person and a loving mother.  Linda was divorced, never re-married.

Linda had a very small network of friends but good friends they were.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a generous person and devoted to her pets.

Linda is survived by her two sons:

  • Brian Stewart Malarkey of Litchfield, CT, his wife Jayne Balaguer and four children, Conor & Jenna Malarkey, Tejiah & Izaiah Balaguer.
  • Michael George Malarkey of Burnet, TX, his two children, Nicholas & Devin Malarkey (and two grandchildren from Devin).

 

A memorial service is scheduled for 10am on July 6th, 2021 and Pastor Rick Rojas will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda’s life.

The family would like to thank Legacy Funeral & Cremation Care and Singing Hills Memorial Park for all the assistance in managing the details of this process when we could not get from Litchfield, CT and Burnet, TX to San Diego during the pandemic.
