Obituary of Martha Louise (Jones) Coxe

Martha Coxe passed away on September 15 after a short illness.  Born in Los Angeles, she came to San Diego when she was 3 to live with her aunt/uncle.  She attended Washington Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from San Diego High School in 1945.  She made life-long girlfriends in junior high, loved history, sports and the beach.  She married the love of her life, Dick Coxe in 1949 and they spent their life having fun – golf, tennis, fishing, camping, traveling.  She was a dedicated coach’s wife and mother to two daughters.  She conducted research on her Vejar California family of which she was 6^th generation.

Marty is survived by daughters Kathy Martin and Joni Birse, son-in-law Alan Birse, grandson Kelly Martin, granddaughter Heather (Birse) Howard and her husband Zac and great-granddaughter Madelyn Howard.  She was preceded in death by her husband and grandson, Kevin Birse.
