Obituary of Judith Ann Monaco

Judith Ann Monaco, 85, died on Monday, May 25, 2020 (Memorial Day) at her home in San Diego, California.

 

Judy was born January 23, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska to Delight and Truman Frank. She grew up with her siblings; Ardath, Karen, Sonda, Buzz, Tim and Dennis. Despite significant hardship as a young girl, Judy grew to be a wonderfully happy and loving person.

 

Judy met the love of her life, Louis Antonio Monaco, in Omaha in 1954. He swept her off her feet and they eloped weeks later. Judy and Louie moved to San Diego, CA in 1954. Judy balanced motherhood and a career, running a dress shop called The Witch’s Hut and working as a hairdresser.

 

She enjoyed worshipping and volunteering at St. Therese Parish, where she was an active member of the Italian Catholic Federation. She also loved to travel, bowl, write poems, and spend time with her friends and grandchildren. Judy was a deeply loyal and caring person to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

 

Judy is survived by her son, Steve Monaco and spouse, Anne Monaco; her daughter, Dawn (Monaco) Ferguson and spouse, Mark Ferguson; her grandchildren, Julie Mahlmeister, Anthony Mahlmeister, Teresa Monaco, and Michele Monaco; one great grandchild, October McDorman, and many close friends.
