Obituary of Betty Darlene Giffin Peavy

Darlene was a beautiful woman who was kind, generous and loved all animals. She was a very accomplished professional accordionist who could make a room overflow with joy and energy when she played. Her beauty was always noticed, and never forgotten. Darlene was born in Columbus, Ohio February 10, 1935 into the Giffin family with 4 siblings Mansell, Gloria, Melba and Linda. In 1958, she married Marion Williams Peavy in Lexington, KY. She lived in Augusta, Ga for the past 42 years. They had three children, Tami, Tess and Todd. Darlene was always up for a new adventure, from sailing to biking the beach boardwalk. She loved her family and was forgiving to a fault. Darlene is survived by her children, Tami Peavy of San Diego, Ca. and Tess Peavy of Arcata, Ca; her 9 grand children, Sean Peavy of Los Angeles, Ca; Tara Peavy Mitchell, Tami Peavy Owen and Tracy Peavy Parks of Americas, Ga; James Marion Peavy of Byron,Ga; Ayra Armendariz-Peavy of Arcata, Ca, Gabriel Armendariz-Peavy of Arcata, Ca and Elijah Armendariz-Peavy of Arcata, Ca; 5 great grandchildren and her long time companion John Jones. Her son, Todd Williams Peavy is deceased and daughter-in-law Daisy Holder Peavy resides in Americas, Ga. Darlene passed on May 2, 2018 after a year long battle with a very rare disease, Mastocytosis. She will be laid to rest in the Peavy family plot in Pinehurst, GA.
