Dorlue Schulte Obituary

Dorlue Mae Jones Schulte was born at Sharp Hospital in San Diego, CA on December 2nd 1958 passed away at home in San Diego, CA on July 12th, 2022. She was 63 years old.

She is preceded in death by her son, Benjamin (12.18.1986-3. 30.1987) and her father Jerry Jones Sr. (9.10.1936-2.10.1992)

She is survived and loved by her husband Douglas E Schulte, son Ryan D Schulte, her mother Olga Jones, brother Jerry Jones Jr. and her nieces Summer Jones Murray and Cheyenne Jones.

Dorlue grew up in Spring Valley, CA and attended Mount Miguel High School where she enjoyed competing on the Softball team, varsity swim team and varsity gymnastics teams. She graduated in 1976. After graduation she worked at Pacific Bell as a clerical worker for 20 years.

Dorlue and Doug were married on 9.22.1990 and stayed happily married 32 years. He took incredible care of her through her long struggle with Huntington’s Disease.

Dorlue had many hobbies and always enjoyed being around people. She jumped at the chance to volunteer at Maranatha Christian Church, where she was a part of the Sunday school nursery, and she participated in community groups such as “Moms in Touch''. She also was very active in the Parent Teacher Association at Ryan’s school where she got so much joy out of planning events and parties for the kids. During the summers she enjoyed family camping trips where she would take hundreds of photographs, she always made sure to print doubles. Dorlue was - to her core - a people person.

Dorlue also had a fighting spirit that never wavered in the face of her diagnosis with Huntington’s Disease. She made many contributions to better the world, including her participation in clinical trials in hopes that one day there will be a cure.

Dorlue will forever be remembered as a kind and loving person whose sparkling personality positively affected everyone who she came into contact with. She cared deeply about her family and friends and cherished every moment and every memory with them. She will be deeply missed.

A private family service will be held on August 20, 2022 in San Diego CA.
