Marilyn Chesterfield

Obituary of Marilyn Jurczyk Chesterfield

With heavy hearts, the Jurczyk family regrets to announce the sudden passing of our mother, Marilyn, on July 8, 2022, in San Diego, Calif.

Marilyn Jurczyk Chesterfield, who was born on Dec. 11, 1934, had fond memories of the Tawas area including her involvement with Tawas Bay Players, Sweet Adelines, and Tawas Bay Eagles No. 2588. She had many friends in the area and often reminisced about the good times she had there cross-country skiing, sailing, camping at Round Lake, playing tennis back in the day, square dancing, spending time at the senior center, and dancing at the street fair.

In her later years, a perfect day consisted of watching game shows and old musicals, reluctant walks around the "fountain of youth" and a good meal including some chocolate – "dark that is!"

Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Jurczyk, to whom she was married for 44 years until his death in 2002; her son, Joseph Jurczyk; and her second husband, Gayle Chesterfield.

She is survived by her children, James (Lori), Rita (Tarik), Mark, Matt (Carol); and grandchildren, Kevin Anderson, Lynette and Valerie Jurczyk; step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Shawn) Ritola, Allison (Zach) Shelton, and great step-grandchildren Cohen, Teddi, and Meadow Ritola; sister-in-law, Bernadine (Gerald) Baumann; niece, Alyssa (Becca) Zader-Baumann; nephew, Kevin (Karyn) Baumann; great nephews, Evan Zader-Baumann and Matthew Baumann; and great nieces Elliot Zader-Baumann and Emma Baumann.

Her genuine personality, candor and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made, in memory of Raymond Jurczyk, to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, 921 W. 11th, Suite 1W, Traverse City, MI 49684 or, in memory of her mother Mary, to Huntington's Disease Society of America, 1221 Bowers St. PO Box 1091, Birmingham, MI 48012
