My husband RW and I just found out about our Susie. He was in the Navy with her. She would always go to dinner and party with us. We always exchanged Christmas cards every year. We were stationed in Beaufort SC with her. Loved her very much. She will be missed.

…posting this on March 12,2022…just found out about Susie’s death today…devastated…had been wondering why no Christmas card last year and no response to my baseball text to her yesterday…never a good sign…Susie and I met in 1984 teaching Navy hospital corpsmen …I actually got her interested in the Padres…and the rest is history…I remember spring training with her in Yuma, her RN graduation, her pride in grandson Andrew, visits with her mom, Joan, spring training trips to Peoria…such a loss…but what a blessing to have known her…rest in peace, my dear friend…Jane Dean and Joe Burkard

Wow, this is very hard to believe and even harder to express all the thanks your family deserves for allowing us to share your precious Susie!!!! She was truly the biggest "diamond" at the ballpark I have ever known!!! My daughter and I met her at Padres spring training in 1996 and immediately felt her spirit, enthusiasm and positive energy that never ever faltered!!! She was amongst the kindest and caring human beings I have had the joy to share time with; during Padres games, spring training room shares (twice), many pregames, dinners, drinks and a few fond memories at Barona!!!
Susie will be sorely missed, but never, ever forgotten!!! Raise a glass or two for a life well-lived and her Padres as she guides them from above for eternity!!!

I worked with Susie for a very short time at Sharp, but it was a great honor to know her. She was always helpful and a great person to work beside. She will be greatly missed and I am truly grateful I had the chance to know her. Rest In Peace Susie.

No doubt about it, Susie made the world a better place. She shared her love of life with everyone who crossed her path. She was not only a Padres season ticket holder for thirty-seven years, she also demonstrated her love of baseball by traveling to various baseball games and events across the country. When Trevor Hoffman was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, Susie was there to witness the ceremony. She often traveled to San Francisco and Denver to watch her Padres play, and her presence at Spring Training was an absolute must. By devoting much of her spare time to the San Diego Madres for many years, she furthered the cause of youth baseball. Susie also enjoyed minor league baseball. I always looked forward to her annual visits to New Mexico, where we spent many hours watching the Albuquerque Isotopes, the AAA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. (Yes, she overlooked that!) It is with great sorrow that I must accept the fact that her visit to New Mexico six weeks ago was to be her last. God Bless You Susie! I will always value your friendship, and the Padres will never know a more devoted fan.

Dear Family of Our Susie, With Heartbreak, I want to let you know that I thought the world of Susie. I am a newer member of The San Diego Madres and Susie welcomed me so warmly - and we easily became fast friends. Susie's love and enthusiasm for Life, Baseball, and Friendships is overwhelming in the best way possible! Please know she has touched so many with her life's work of Nursing and with her generous and loving nature. Susie's memory will never fade - She has made all of us better Human Beings. My love and hugs go out to my fellow Madre Members who have known Susie for years and years. Your Heartbreak has to be unbearable. With Love and Respect, Patty Cordero
