Obituary of Yoshie Vernon

Yoshie Vernon, aged 93, a resident in Santee for 50 years, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2021. She was born on March 18, 1928 in Okinawa, Japan. Although her early life faced much hardship living through WWII and losing one side of her hearing due to the war, she was always sweet, cheerful, and kind to everyone, especially children.

She was happily married to Edward Vernon until his death for 56 years and lived in the USA for 54 years as a loving wife and homemaker. She was a caring mom and grandma who always worked hard to take care of the home and her family. She did volunteer work at Edgemore Senior Center, Mighty Bingo House, and with the Salvation Army. In 2005, she received a certificate from the President's Volunteer Service Award. She loved to go to Bingo and spending her time with her friends there together.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on August 3, 2021 at Guadian Angel Church, 9310 Dalehurst Rd., Santee, CA 92071. A light reception will follow and then a burial service will be held in Miramar National Cemetery at 2:30pm where she will be buried with her beloved husband together. She will always be remembered as a kind and hard-working lady who always enjoyed her simple life and lived it fully and happily.
