Obituary of Robert Glenn Morrow, Jr.

Robert Glenn Morrow, Jr

August 17, 1938 – April 28, 2021

Robert "Bob" Glenn Morrow, 82, from La Mesa, California, went to his heavenly home on April 28, 2021. Bob was diagnosed with dementia which eventually led to Alzheimer’s and he fought like a trooper to the end.

Bob was born in San Diego and his childhood was spent in Los Angeles, then eventually moving to Morenci, a mining town in AZ where his parents worked.  He attended the University of AZ, where he graduated with a degree in Architecture.   He  returned to San Diego where he married Carol Morrow and raised two children, Brenna and Colin.  Carol passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2004.

Bob then met Susan at square dancing and after a love at first sight relationship, the quiet, gentle man married his social butterfly in April 2006.  Their married life took them from La Mesa, CA to Louisville, KY and Rockaway, NJ for Susan’s job.  When she retired in 2016, they made a 10 week memorable road trip of a lifetime in the RV to return to their home in San Diego, buying a new home in Lakeside, CA.  Bob eventually needed additional around the clock care and was moved into a memory care facility after a final dream cruise to Alaska with friends.

Bob enjoyed sailing, RVing, square dancing, cruising, and Padres baseball.  His love for RVing led him to purchase two different motor homes, and eventually a trailer, then 5th wheel for their road trip back to San Diego.

Bob was a sweet, kind, gentle man.  He was quiet until you got to know him well enough, then his fun witty personality came out and he was quite the jokester.  He loved collecting many things like elephant figurines, hats, flash lights, tape measures, and wine stoppers.

Bob is survived by his wife, Susan Morrow, Lakeside CA and passed away the day before their 15th wedding anniversary.  He is also survived by his children Brenna Morrow and Colin Morrow, both from La Mesa, CA, sisters Patricia McFadden from Tujunga, CA and Susan Mueller from Centennial, CO, several nieces and nephews, great nieces, and many who were honored to call him friend.

Bob will be cremated and interred at Miramar National Cemetery at a private ceremony on Thursday, June 24th.  There will be a celebration of life/reception following the service at the home of Susan Morrow.  Please feel free to visit any time between 3pm – 8pm and RSVP to the email below.   For additional information, directions to celebration of life/reception, please email  weloveBob2021@gmail.com.
