We have been a customer of Al's for decades. I'm so happy we were able to meet with him again in 2017 for some flooring work on the house. With all the big name companies out there, we never thought twice who to turn to.. He was so friendly and personable, we would talk and he'd tell stories about his time in the Navy, as my husband is also a veteran, and we'd forget we were even talking about business. We are saddened to hear of his passing, though late. Condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.

I loved when Uncle Albert and family would visit my family (his brother, Spurgeon "Spud") in FL when they lived in MN.
Uncle Al had a sparkle in his eyes and always smiling. Really loved him. Joyce McDuffie Dennis

Al, I am very grateful that you came into my life when I married Sharon. When we first met at the wedding, I was immediately impressed by your calm and friendly demeanor, great sense of humor and acceptance as you welcomed me into your family. I got to know you much better when you stayed with us in 2015 to celebrate your 90th birthday with the entire Minnesota family. We talked in the evenings about our common interest in WWII history, passion for old Western movies and TV shows and I learned more about your life. Your memory for details always amazed me. I will miss our conversations while visiting you in San Diego, your trips to Minnesota and many conversations on the phone.
I would mention you to my friends and co-workers that you were still running your flooring business into your 90's. They were all very impressed with your work ethic and achievement. You were a hard-working man and I quickly realized the love you had for your family and the caring for all people that you touched during your life. Quite a fulfilling life for a small-town boy from Florida! I will love you always and certainly never forget you.

Dad was always the eternal optimistic and a great historian. He was self taught, very smart and had an excellent memory. Besides his love of history, he loved his work in sales. He had a boundless work ethic and acquired many friends along the way. He was a such a sociable person with great compassion and empathy. He loved life and family and learning new things. I am proud to call him Dad and will always love and miss him. Like he said, "It was a great ride!". I love you, Dad.

Dad, you were my great teacher. We could talk about inventions, Mexican conquistadors or physics, for hours. You knew so many facts, like the distance to the moon, the depth of the oceans, and the highest mountain - your ability to recall details about people and places always astounded me. You loved adventure and made sure to introduce your children to new and interesting places. There are so many things I will remember about you, but most of all, is that you were always kind and giving to any poor soul in need. I am so grateful to have had you as my father. God Bless you, Dad. I’ll always love you and miss you. Your baby girl, Mary

Thank you papa for blessing me with the happiest childhood. You supported every aspiration I had and helped me achieve my dream. I will never forget how supportive you were in my high school days, driving me around to all my various performances and was always my #1 fan to cheer me on. I will miss the father-daughter dates we had and all those wonderful conversations we shared. I am so proud to be your daughter and no words can describe how much I love and misses you.
Yours Always,
Angela

Dad you were an inspiration to all of us. By example you taught us to never give up and never quit. I will always treasure our long conversations. You helped me through some of my toughest times. You will be in my heart forever. Love your number three daughter! Blowing you a kiss. Did you catch it?
Love Sharon
