Obituary of Allene Eastman Reirdon

After a brief battle with cancer Allene Eastman Reirdon, age 79 passed away on January 29, 2019 in San Diego, California.

Allene was born in San Diego, California in August 1939. She was a loving daughter to Courtney Richmond and James Eastman and stepfather William Thurston. She was the oldest sister in a family of 6 children. She graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1957 and worked as a dental hygienist. She was hardworking and generous, while working she was able to help put her younger sister through teaching college.

Allene married the love of her life, Mike Reirdon in 1965. Mike came from Cleveland, Ohio but after meeting his beautiful wife they would call only California home for the next 42 years. They had a full and adventurous life spent traveling, sailing, golfing and running the family business they started together. They raised two children and enjoyed being grandparents to 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Allene was preceded in death by Mike in 2007. She always looked forward to the day the two of them would be together again. She passed from our world into his while surrounded by her family. Allene left all her family with so many good memories and so much laughter. She will be remembered for her humor, hard work, kindness, generosity and her fierce independence. She leaves behind a daughter Erin, son-in-law Robert, a son Mike, daughter-in-law Elena, 6 grandchildren: Perry, Ryan, Rachel, Isabella, Colin, and Charlotte and one great-grandchild Lucca. Allene has many family members and friends but was grateful to be especially close with her surviving siblings: sister Genie and her partner Mike, sister Marilyn and brother-in-law Greg, brother Robert and sister-in-law Gail and a brother-in-law Richard. Allene was preceded in death by her oldest brother William Thurston Jr. and his wife, her sister-in-law Nora and younger sister Nancy.

Allene was a quiet person with a fiery spirit and a kind soul and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
