Obituary of June Priscilla Hudson
June P. Hudson was born in Belvue Kansas on June 16, 1929, the 10th child of Emeline and Fred Tower. The family left the Tower Homestead in 1931 for Colorado, eventually settling in Long Beach, California.
A graduate of Excelsior High School, June attended Fullerton Junior College. Shortly after graduation she signed a two-year contract with the Air Force and worked at Elmendorf AFB, in what was then the Territory of Alaska. She returned home a year later, and soon after moved to San Diego.
June worked as a bookkeeper, comptroller and tax preparer, and became an Enrolled Agent in 1985. She continued to work in the tax business until she was 80 years old. A believer in staying busy, she volunteered at the Alpine Community Center and the Grossmont Senior Resource Center until the end.
She met Delma “Hutt” Hudson in Long Beach in 1958 and they were married on June 15, 1962. They shared a love of travel and their photo Christmas cards from their most recent trip developed a cult following. Ultimately they visited all seven continents.
June is survived by her daughter, Jennifer, her sister, Gail, many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends. June was known for her humor, her intellect, her interest in politics, and her love of stories, family and friends. She will be missed.
