Obituary of Ria Odell Kapferer

Ria is survived by her parents Cheryl Odell and Hans Kapferer. Brother Brian Kapferer and nephew Tyler, and her sisters Kristina Melville (Mike) and nieces Payton, Chase, and Cameron, and sister Bettina Greil (Robert) and nephews Mario and Patrick. Ria is preceded by Grandparents: Ruth Odell and Harold Odell, Gertrude and Johann Kapferer,and her Aunt Renate Lechner Ria was born and raised in San Diego. She graduated from Grossmont High School Class of 2002. She attended various colleges in San Diego and Phoenix studying criminal studies, forensics, and nursing. She worked at Sharp Memorial Hospital. She became a flight attendant in 2005 for America West, US airways and American Airlines. She was based in Phoenix and for a short time Charlotte, NC. For the last few years of her life she lived in San Diego and commuted to Phoenix. She loved flying and travel in general. She would fly to any city to see her friends play soccer or any other event. When she wasn’t working, she was flying to Australia to see her uncle Hugo Kapferer’s family or to Austria to visit her sister Bettina’s family and celebrate her Austrian heritage. She traveled throughout Europe with friends as well. She traveled with her mom and dad on numerous cruises. Ria’s favorite quote: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious”. ..
