Obituary of Juliet Clara Miller

Juliet Clara Miller, also known as; Judy, J.C, Mom and Grammy, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of October 11, 2018. After a hemorrhagic stroke this past May and many years of severe hypertension, she could no longer fight. Juliet was the first-born of six and arrived on January 28, 1939 in Artesia, New Mexico to Adam and Clara Cota Sr. The family moved to California in 1949 and settled in San Ysidro. She attended Mar Vista HS and graduated in 1958, the Pom Pom Squad is where she is best remembered. Retail was what she loved early on until she met Lefty Miller. They married in 1963 and that same year their family began. Juliet was born to take care of children and that she did with all the love and hugs she could muster. What began with two daughters and then grandchildren that she adored, filled her soul beyond measure. Going back to work part-time, retail was where she fit in once again and Nelsons Kid Korral in El Cajon was “home”. This “family” became her family and she now joins many of them that have passed before her. Dennis Uniforms continued where she was once again, around children in those perfect little uniforms. In her retired years, Scotty’s Treasures in Santee was where you would find her amongst the little trinkets and collectibles she so loved to collect and give. Juliet loved to cook, bake or anything that had to do with the kitchen. Her family happily enjoyed the many meals she made with full bellies and utter content. She is best known for her; empanadas, tamales, chili meat, pumpkin pies, anything and everything Thanksgiving, those yummy little jam crescents that she so delicately created with such perfection and so much more. Her daughters and grandchildren were always willing to help and learn and are thankful for every delicious moment to now pass on and share for years to come. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening…all favorite hobbies, especially if creating for her family. But one of the most fulfilling craft projects was making the newborn caps for the many babies born in No. County hospitals. Although Juliet was physically active in HS, sports were no longer her passion, but you’d never know by the hours of side-line cheering she did. Whether it was choir, drama, water polo, track, softball, volleyball, baseball, soccer or dance, she was cheering whichever child and/or team and proudly donning one of her many “Grandma” sweatshirts. Her grandchildren were privileged to share many Grandparents Day events at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary’s Escondido and Cathedral Catholic. She made sure never to miss an “event” if it was for one of her own. Juliet is survived by her husband of 56 years, Carl (Lefty) Miller, daughters/sons-in-law; Carla and Sean Green and Calleen and Dave Andrecht. Grandchilden; Shea and Ryan Wiegand, Cayla Green, McKenzi Green, David Andrecht and Rachel Andrecht and a Great-Grammy to Great-Grandson to-be Baby Boy Wiegand. She had 6 siblings and now joins her parents and sister Lorrain in Heaven. A “Celebration of Life” luncheon will be held to remember the woman we all loved, at one of her favorites; Gaetanos Italian Restaurant on Olde Hwy 80 in Lakeside, from 11:30 am – 3:00pm on Saturday, October 27th.
