Michael Paul Hynes

October 21, 1961 to September 22, 2017

Michael Paul Hynes of El Cajon, California, passed away after a short battle with cancer on September 22, 2017.  Michael passed peacefully while surrounded by his family.

Mike was born to Mary Kathryn Hynes and Franklin Paul Hynes on October 21, 1961, in Long Beach California.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Kay, and is survived by his father Frank Hynes of Portland, Oregon, his twin daughters Kayla and Krysta Hynes of San Diego,  his sisters Liz Hynes of San Francisco,  and Karen Abel along with her husband Jason of San Diego, California.

Mike’s childhood obsession for all things mechanical turned into a lifelong career as a Master Auto Mechanic.

Mike was most proud of his girls…. He loved being a Dad.

Mike was grateful to live the last twenty years of his life clean and sober and was always willing to support others in their struggle.

Mike had a passion for classic cars, Led Zeppelin, and a great home cooked meal.

Those who knew Mike remember his easy going generous spirit.

He will be missed.

Our son, Jay, is married to Karen. Who knew that we would inherit such a lovely family as the Hynes. Karen, Liz, Frank, Krysta and Kayla, and of course, Mike. Mike was an authority on rock n roll—a walking expert on group, year, song and more. How he could store...and retain so much showed his true and deep passion for music. We always enjoyed tremendously our family gatherings. Jay played the guitar and Mike and Phillip sang along. So fun. Mike, you will still be at every family gathering we have. God bless

My deepest sympathy. I will always cherish the memory of hunting Easter eggs with him and talking about music. I know he will live on through all the happy memories he left and his beautiful daughters.
