Lindy Roxanne Wintz

January 3, 1961 to March 31, 2017

Lindy Roxanne Wintz, 56 of Imperial Beach, California passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2017.  Lindy grew up in Plymouth, Michigan and graduated from Plymouth Canton High School in 1979.  She was an active sports enthusiast throughout her life and participated in Figure Skating, Bowling, Unicycling, Swimming, Cheerleading and Karate.  She loved music, Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones.

She attended both Michigan State University and Detroit Mercy College earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and worked throughout her career in home health care.

In 1994, she pursued her passion for Shotokan Karate and moved to Southern California to train at the national headquarters for the US Karate Team.  She trained with Master Hidetaka Nishiyama, Sensei Ray Dalke and Sensei Nick Palise.  In 2000 she made the US Karate Team and competed in the World Championship in Moscow, Russia.

Lindy is survived by her parents Hermon “Whitey” and Elizabeth “Anne” White of Plymouth MI, brother Brett White and his wife Karen of Georgetown TX, nieces Kesley and Kayla White and many friends.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of Lindy's passing. We have been trying to get in touch with her over the last few months. We are her friends from Sensei Nishiyama whom she has trained for years with. Please send our thoughts and prayers to her family and let them know we miss her, she was a lovely, hard working woman.
