We Loved him a lot but God loved him more……
Charles passed away peacefully on April 17, 2017, at the age of 74. He was a very faithful Catholic and was blessed enough to leave this world with an Apostolic Pardon. Charles was born and raised in Clifton, N.J. He graduated from Clifton High. After graduating, Charles went to Newark College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also attended Stevens Institute. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engi neers. Charles had the opportunity to work for many years for the U.S Navy on Sonar detection of submarines . The love for his job then brought him to sunny San Diego County, California, where he resided for at least 45 years. He also helped install the nationwide Doppler Weather Radar System. Charlie never married. However, he made many wonderful friends in his lifetime. Charlie is survived by best friend Michele Reioux, sister Anne Salerno, her husband Joe Salerno, and two nieces Jackie Johnson and Kimberly Porterfield. Charlie was the most caring, fun loving person who would do anything for anyone. He loved spending time with his friends and volunteering at his church, most recently with the parish food pantry. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus at his parish, and he supported pro-life groups and helped new mothers with baby items. Charlie was a cat lover. You could always count on Charlie to remember a birthday or anniversary. He spent his retirement working at the local casino repairing the slot machines. Charlie loved to call and talk with faraway family, catching up on their lives. Though we spent many years living so far away from Charlie, we feel closer to him now more then ever. It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate him, and a day to love him, but in an entire lifetime we will not forget him. Charlie will be gone but never forgotten. Those we love don’t go away; Charlie will walk beside us everyday. We wish to thank all of the loving wonderful friends Charlie had in his life and the caregivers who made Charlie’s journey home a peaceful one.
